Poster Session


Thank you for your interest in the 2019 WAPC Poster Session. The author-attended portion of the poster session will be held on Monday, April 8, 2019, at the Best Western Premier Waterfront Hotel and Convention Center in Oshkosh, WI. Abstracts of each accepted poster will be made available to conference participants online. The submission deadline for abstracts is Monday, December 17, 2018 January 14, 2019. WAPC will notify you during February 2019 if your abstract has been accepted.

NEW THIS YEAR: In addition to the author-attended poster sessions, this year's conference will offer a session featuring selected abstracts for oral presentations. The session will be held Monday afternoon, after the second author-attended poster session. Each presenter will have approximately 10 minutes to present, followed by 5 minutes of questions and answers. Authors will be asked to opt in or out of this opportunity when submitting their abstracts.

WAPC accepts posters in the following categories:

  • Case Study (abstract headings: Objectives/background; Description of case; Intervention; Results; and Discussion/conclusions)
  • Innovative Program/Project (abstract headings: Introduction or statement of problem; Objectives, purpose, goals; Intervention or practice; Results; and Conclusions)
  • Literature Review (abstract headings: Objectives, Background, Methods, Results, and Conclusions/applications)
  • Original Research (abstract headings: Introduction or statement of problem; Hypothesis; Methods/design; Results; and Conclusions)


  • Posters submitted to previous conferences are acceptable.
  • The abstract must be no longer than 350 words in length. Cut and paste the abstract sections in the space provided on the submission form. You must complete the submission process in one sitting; you will not be able to reenter the submission form once you submit it.
  • All abstracts will be submitted using Survey Monkey.
  • The author(s) must be the principal individual(s) that designed and implemented the project.
  • Original research and case studies must be completed at the time the abstract is submitted.
  • Innovative projects must be implemented and preliminary data must be available at the time the abstract is submitted. Preliminary data may include lessons learned.
  • Results should support conclusions.
  • Methodology must be appropriate to answer questions or address the problem stated.
  • Subject of the poster must be current and applicable to perinatal care.
  • One author must be available at his/her poster during the poster session on Monday, April 8, 2019, for discussion with conference participants.
  • The poster session committee will (a) accept the abstract, (b) provide preliminary acceptance of the abstract and request changes be made by the author, or (c) not accept the abstract.
  • Presenters are asked to remove their posters at the conclusion of the second poster session.

If your abstract is accepted, one person per poster will be entitled to a $50 reduction in the member or non-member registration fee. Poster session presenters are required to register to attend the conference on Monday, April 8, 2019, and to attend the two scheduled poster sessions.
