Weight Management: Pregnancy and Postpartum
What We Are Doing

In 2010, WAPC embarked on an initiative about weight management for women of childbearing age. The interest in weight management is a natural progression of WAPC’s work promoting pre and interconception health for women and their families.

Perinatal Weight Management Work Group
The initiative began with WAPC bringing together perinatal providers from all over Wisconsin to form the Perinatal Weight Management Work Group. The work group created the Perinatal Weight Management Bundle of materials. Visit our Resources page to find out more.

Provider Education on Perinatal Weight Management:

2013 Regional Forum Series
WAPC conducted two-hour educational sessions in each of the perinatal regions across the state. The topic for 2013 was Perinatal Weight Management: Opportunities for a Lifetime.

Perinatal Weight Management Webinars
The content from the 2013 Regional Forum series was offered as a one-hour Webinar in January 2014.  A recording of this Webinar will be available in February 2014 for purchase in our online classroom.
