Postpartum Hemorrhage: What We Are Doing

In 2002, maternal mortality reviews, coordinated under the auspices of the Wisconsin Medical Society and the Wisconsin Department of Health and Family Services, identified postpartum hemorrhage as a leading cause of maternal mortality. WAPC teamed up with the Wisconsin chapter of ACOG to develop an educational program and materials to fill the need for information.

In 2003, WAPC hosted a the Regional Forum Series, “Preventing Postpartum Hemorrhage: A Matter of Patient Safety.” WAPC developed materials in conjunction with the forums. These PPH resources are continually updated. Learn more about our PPH resources.

Today, WAPC provides PPH education to providers in a variety of ways, including the WAPC Annual Conference.
